The current issue of Compressor-Tech2 Magazine features a Sundyne story, which originated from a press release we issued in November 2020.
Compressor Tech-2 Editor DJ Slater posted a brief story covering the news and he requested additional information for a more in-depth story. Sundyne’s global compressor product line manager Grégory Junot provided content for the larger story explaining why Sundyne compressors are appropriate for these applications. - The fuel gas boosting market is important today - because commercial power generation for grid injection is transitioning to greener processes that minimize CO2 emissions. Combined-cycle gas-fired power generation is increasingly being selected for greenfield and brownfield projects, to replace coal-fired plants, to support generation by renewables and to extend existing plants.
- Fuel gas boosting in general has been impacted by the pandemic, which has highlighted the need for flexible and quick/responsive generation systems enabled by gas-fired plants.
- Sundyne compressors have been used in fuel gas boosting applications since 1976, when an LMC-311P was installed to boost fuel gas for an on-board ship turbine.
- Sundyne’s control system supplies fuel gas at pressures needed for optimal turbine operation, under all load conditions, within 1% precision.
