Sundyne API Pumps & Compressors for Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG)

Almost 40 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas is extracted offshore annually. Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) vessels can access remote offshore gas fields where no pipeline infrastructure exists. FLNG vessels not only extract gas, but they also process, liquify, store & transfer LNG to markets around the globe. Offshore Applications, such as Extraction, Processing, Liquification and Storage of Natural Gas require Pumps & Compressors. Sundyne’s equipment is well suited for this market.

Applications

Extraction and Processing

FLNG vessels locate offshore natural gas fields. They extract natural gas from the seabed, process it to remove impurities and heavy hydrocarbons.

Pump & Compressor Services:
  • Regeneration gas compressors
  • Flash gas compressors
  • Pre-treatment (Amine) pumps
  • Heavy hydrocarbon pumps

Liquefaction and Storage

Gas is cooled to -162°C (-260°F). Liquefaction reduces the volume of natural gas by approximately 600 times, making it easier to transport. LNG is stored in insulated tanks onboard FLNG vessels.

Pump & Compressor Services:
  • Refrigerant pumps
  • Utility pumps

Transportation

LNG is transferred from an FLNG vessel to LNG carriers, which then transport it to regasification terminals, which convert the product back to its gaseous state and distribute it through onshore pipelines for commercial use.

Why Sundyne Equipment is Preferred for FLNG Applications

Compact Footprint

Space is always at a premium on an FLNG vessel.

Safety

Crew safety and protecting the environment are of paramount importance to every offshore platform. Sundyne utilizes a range of special metallurgies to help prevent leaks and deliver the safest, most reliable fluid handling solution on the market.

Experience

Sundyne has provided pumps and compressors for use in offshore applications for more than 40 years, delivering rugged reliability in the Gulf Coast, the North Sea, the Mid-East, Africa and the waters of Asia.

Reliability

Unplanned maintenance on offshore vessels is expensive and it slows production. Every Sundyne unit shipped is extensively tested to ensure smooth on-site start-up, long, trouble-free duty cycles, in-site serviceability and ease of repair.

Compliance

FLNG vessels are amongst the most highly engineered facilities on the planet, regulated under API RP 2FPS guidelines. All Sundyne equipment complies to latest industry standards.

FLNG technology represents a significant advancement in the natural gas industry, offering a flexible and efficient solution for tapping into offshore natural gas reserves. To learn more contact Sundyne today.
