Turbo Pump Symposium and GPA Recaps

Last month we had an opportunity to meet with dozens of customers, EPCs, Licensors and Channel Partners at the Turbo Pump Symposium (Sept 16-18, 2025 in Houston) and the GPA Midstream Convention (Sept 21-24, 2025 in San Antonio). Below is a quick recap of each event:

Held at the Marriott Rivercenter & Riverwalk in San Antonio, the 2025 GPA Midstream Convention brought together almost 2,000 executives, engineers, operators and maintenance personnel to discuss a wide range of topics, including:

  • The historic need for power infrastructure, driven by new technologies such as AI and data centers.
  • Continued strong demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG).
  • The importance of digitization and AI for midstream project planning, maintenance & operations.
  • And the continued commitment from the energy industry to reduce emissions.

As one of the show’s sponsors, Sundyne welcomed almost 100 energy producers, midstream companies, refinery operators, EPCs and rotating equipment engineers into our booth to discuss how Sundyne pumps & compressors can be deployed or optimized to better serve their operations.  Many of the people we spoke with were existing customers, with multiple centrifugal pumps or multi-stage centrifugal compressors in their plants. Our discussions ranged from best practices for aftermarket services, to adding new equipment for potential expansion to address applications such as:

Sundyne integrally geared centrifugal compressors are used to compress low molecular weight gases in recycle streams and during regeneration processes, for a wide range of applications: for more information, click here.

Molecular sieves remove impurities from gas streams. Over time, the sieves become saturated and must be regenerated. Sundyne compressors provide the necessary pressure and flow that are needed for regeneration, dehydration and purification processes. To learn more, click here.

The Turbomachinery & Pump Symposia (TPS) in Houston was attended by almost 5,000 rotating equipment professionals. Every year, Sundyne speaks with more than a hundred customers who visit the Sundyne booth to gather information for potential new equipment, and also to seek advice for site surveys, and aftermarket tips to keep their existing equipment running in peak condition.

This year, we met with a number of EPCs, including Bechtel, Burns & McDonnell and Fluor Inc., and we also had lengthy conversations with customers including Chevron, Commonwealth LNG, Dow Chemical, ExxonMobil, Linde Engineering, Marathon, Motiva, Phillips 66, Saudi Aramco, Shell Canada, Venture Global LNG and many others, to discuss applications such as:

LNG accesses locations where pipelines are not feasible. Sundyne compressors are used in multiple LNG processing applications, to remove water and to generate the high pressures needed for the liquefaction process. For more information, click here.

Sundyne pumps & compressors support a wide range of carbon capture technologies, as well as emerging CO2 utilization applications. At TPS, we discussed how Sundyne equipment is used across the entire CCUS value-chain – including carbon capture, compression, dehydration, transportation, utilization and storage. Sundyne’s fit-for-purpose CO2 compressor package, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of the carbon capture market, was a big focus at the show. We talked to several companies that are interested in centrifugal compressor solutions for CCUS applications.

We wish to thank the hundreds of attendees that visited the Sundyne booths at TPS and GPA. If anyone requires further assistance, or has questions on any of the topics discussed at these shows, please contact us today.
